Meet the Teachers

Chantal Vice began practicing yoga 10 years ago. Walking out of that first class, feeling lighter and blissful, marked the beginning of a love affair. After the birth of her three children and the diagnoses of a heart condition, Chantal needed focus and wanted to take her practice to the next level. In 2010 she completed a 200 hour teacher training in Prana Yoga at the New York Open Center.  That training, which in addition to physical postures, focused on the Chakras and meditation, opened the door of knowledge to the existence of the higher Self. Thirsty for more, Chantal is currently working toward completing her 500 hour teacher training with Sri Dharma Mittra.

Chantal teaches a Vinyasa/ Hatha-Raja inspired class, encouraging her students to open their hearts and surrender in order to feel the connection with Spirit. Weaving yoga philosophy into her classes, she aims to help students go beyond their physical practice and move toward Oneness.  Chantal is a devoted practitioner and teacher and is committed to spreading the loving message that is Yoga.

Heather Simonson, LMSW, ERYT-200, RPYT a Licensed Social Worker and AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator, is the founder of Sexuality Education and Counseling Services, an organization that empowers others to help build the foundation needed to embrace sexuality with pride and in a positive light. Heather’s background and experience enables her to use a truly holistic perspective by fusing eastern and western derived techniques throughout her teachings.

As a Yoga Alliance Registered Prenatal and Children’s Yoga Teacher, Heather knows firsthand the power of yoga and the impact it has on pregnancy, birthing and parenthood. Yoga has been a true gift in Heather’s life, where her practice has become her mission off the mat, to empower others through their own inner wisdom.  She is the Founder and Director of The Yoga Womb, Long Island’s first Yoga Alliance approved prenatal yoga teacher training. Heather received her 200 hour certification as a Vinyasa Yoga Instructor from Always-At-Aum Yoga School and is also one of Long Island’s only Tantra Teacher.

A mother of two amazing children, Heathers prenatal yoga practice is the prenatal education that enabled her to have beautiful, natural, non-medicated births. Heather has been raising both her daughter and son on yoga since in the womb and knows that the quality of their relationship, the strength in their character and the connection they share, is largely due to being a yoga family.

Regina McGowan began her journey into yoga through a love for Asana practice and a desire to bring balance to her life.  Her passion and strength, both on the mat and in her life, has bestowed upon her the spiritual name Samarasa, which in Sanskrit means “having equal bliss.”  Regina strives to build confidence in each of her students individually, while inspiring them to develop a physical, mental and spiritual balance that they can bring to their lives as well.  Finding her roots in the Vinyasa style of yoga, Regina is currently a 500-hr certified yoga instructor with Yoga Alliance and an instructor trainer in the 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training for Always-at-Aum Yoga School, where she has further deepened her passion by training students to become teachers.  Regina is also an Attorney licensed to practice in New York and California, a Horse Trainer and practices Equine Acupressure.
